Building Trusting
Leading a dynamic team of ministry leaders is one of the most rewarding ministry opportunities that exist. The possibility for accomplishing great things for the Lord, in part, is directly proportional to the leader’s ability to draw the best out of those God has put under their care and oversight. In order to do this well, ministry leaders recognize that they must develop the kind of leadership relationships that revolves around deep, abiding mutual trust. (1) Without the central element of trust, suspicion between colleagues raises its ugly non productive head. Doubts about one another’s motives come into question and more energy is spent on out maneuvering one another for political position then getting the job done. The complex work that needs to be done is compromised by half hearted commitments and half baked solutions. Important information that needs to be shared among team members is withheld. (2) When mistrust exists, everyone loses; Especially the people ministry leaders are trying to reach, teach, and empower for kingdom work and glory (Matt 28:18).

The Power of Living on Your Personal Purpose
The power of living on your personal purpose is a compelling energy that moves people towards a God given dream, desire, goal or mission they must accomplish with their lives. A great example of what this kind of power looks like and can accomplish in a life can be seen from one of my favorite Biblical leaders, Nehemiah. Burdened with the news of his troubled and disgraced fellow country men back in their beloved defenseless city of Jerusalem, Nehemiah prays and waits upon God for guidance and direction. As he prayed and waited on God, Nehemiah’s burden of returning to Jerusalem and rebuilding the city wall eventually turned into his personal purpose. Nehemiah becomes empowered by his purpose and this power keeps him moving forward against obstacles, criticism, and discouragement until all that God has purposed for him to do was accomplished.Once Nehemiah got clarity on the single most significant contribution God wanted him to make with his life, nothing stopped him from achieving it. That’s the power of living on your personal purpose. (Nehemiah)
