Our Vision

Every church needs to have a mission statement that answers the question - why do we exist? At CBC, we filter every program, budget request and idea through our mission statement. If whatever we plan doesn't help us meet our mission, then we don't do it.

CBC exists to present Christ as Savior and pursue Christ as Lord.  Our mission (based on the Great Commission) includes both reaching the lost and growing to maturity in faith.  Everything we do at CBC is based on these two commands in Scripture.

Our Core Values help direct our Mission at CBC and are the foundation of our church:

Thoroughly Biblical
We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible word and our primary source of faith and practice. Therefore, we will preach and teach the Bible in relevant ways in order to create life change.
(2 Timothy 3:16-7)

Uplifting Worship
We believe that God is both the object and audience in worship and that we must be a worshiping community.  Therefore, we will pursue creative ways to ascribe worth to God corporately, individually and in small groups through music, the arts, prayer and sound Bible teaching.
(John 4:23-24)

Authentic Relationships
We believe God wants the church to be an open and honest community of people building relationships with each other and serving one another.  Therefore, we will create a thriving community of small groups where our faith can be practiced and developed.
(Ephesians 4:1-6)

Joyful Generosity
We believe everything we have comes from God and belongs to Him and that God expects His people to be generous.  Therefore, we will give generously so that the church can fulfill its mission in our community and in the world.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

Compassionate Outreach
We believe that all believers are commanded to share the truth of Christ with all people in love both here at home, in this region and around the world.  Therefore, as we involve ourselves in missions work around the world we aspire to actively share the good news of Christ with as many of our neighbors as possible using the most effective means available.
(Matthew 28:19-20)

Ministry Excellence
We believe we honor God by giving Him our best effort and performing our best work in His name.  Therefore, we will only undertake a project, task or ministry when we are able to fully devote the time and resources required to make it the best it can possibly be.
(Colossians 3:23)

Spirit-led Prayer
We believe that prayer is the primary means of developing intimacy with Jesus Christ and we know that effectiveness in ministry depends upon appropriating the power of God through corporate and personal prayer.  Therefore, prayer will be a normal and natural expression of our reliance upon God in every aspect of our lives.
(Philippians 4:6-7)
